A Red Bi

a red bi-plane circles the lake
showing off in the blue sky
I wave from the raft like I’m
driving past a field of cows and mooing
he tips the wings just a little
just enough
and circles back around
flirting the wings
low enough so I can see
the pilot is wearing a flight jacket
and my name is tattooed
on the side of the plane in
big lazy letters and holy cow
someone who resembles me is
painted on a wing
popping out of her swimsuit and
blowing a kiss
I’m waving both arms now
but the red bi-plane skims over
the cottage roof and disappears
into the clouds
